AHHS placed 13 Players on the All-Saginaw Valley League team Collecting All-State First Team honors were Ron Rummel, Terry Murphy, Terry Eurick, and Paul Walderzak Head Coach George Ihler captured coach of the year honors from the Associated Press, United Press International, Detroit Free Press and Detroit News, and was also named the National High School Football Coach of the Year
