Saginaw High School – 1981-83 Played football, basketball and track and field Captured State Titles in the 100 and 200-meter dashes – 1982 Gained 1,582 all-purpose as a senior alternating between running back and receiver University of Tennessee – 1983-88 Owns the Tennessee track record for the 300-yard dash and the 300 meter dash – 1986 The second of three first round draft picks by the Oakland Raiders in the 1988 National Football League draft (ninth overall) Intercepted 7 passes, including 2 for touchdowns – 1994 season Nabbed 34 career interceptions which ranks third on the team’s all time interception list behind Willie Brown and Lester Hayes Won the Mackey Award, which goes to the NFL’s top defensive back as voted upon by fellow players – 1995 Had an illustrious 10-year pro career that saw him named to the Pro Bowl five times.
