Basketball – Named All-State 1943-44 Led the Hillites to the 1943-44 Class A State Championship and an unbeaten ​season  (19-0) University of Michigan Caught a 29-yard touchdown pass in 1947 Rose Bowl win over Southern California Led Wolverines in receptions and receiving yards – 1948 Caught 8 touchdown passes – then a U-M record – 1948 Named All-American Receiver – 1948 Selected as Michigan’s Most Valuable Player – 1948 Signed a professional football contract with the New York Yankees Radio and Television Broadcaster in Buffalo, New York.
