Mike McFadden

Varsity football Heritage High School 1999-2002. He starred in three different sports earning all- state honors in football as a junior and senior, all-conference awards in basketball and all regional honors  in the discus and sprints in track while helping the track team win a state championship in 2001.

He went to Grand Valley State University and helped lead the Lakers to Division II national championships in 2003, 2005, and 2006. He tied the NCAA record with 17 consecutive games with sacks, and left GVSU in 2006 as the all-time career sack leader in Division II.

Two-time Gene Upshaw Award winner as the top interior lineman in Division Il football in 2005 and 2006. Two-time National Defensive Player of the Year NCAA Division II, AlI-GLIAC three times, All-Region honors twice, and GLIAC’s defensive lineman of the year twice

He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL in 2007 after going undrafted.

He also played in Canadian Football League with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and in arena football with the Grand Rapids Rampage and the Saginaw Sting

Member NCAA Division II All-Decade Team 2000-2010 and was inducted in the grand Valley State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022.
